Short answer
You do not “unlock” NSFW inside an App Store or Play Store AI companion. Store rules either delist adult generation or require it to stay hidden in the reviewed build. Use the operator’s website (then Add to Home Screen if you want an icon). Primary mobile pick for an adult character catalog: CrushOn. Hosted memory chat: Candy AI.
CrushOn-specific install, hidden-content switches, and billing: CrushOn on iOS & Android. Privacy posture: anonymous setup.

Evidence used
Checked 31 August 2026. Store rules are operator-stated by Apple and Google. Product access claims are operator-stated by CrushOn and Candy. This is not a lab of three “tested platforms,” and it is not a how-to for sideloading unknown APKs.
- Apple App Store Review Guidelines 1.1.4 (overtly sexual / pornographic material) and 1.2 (UGC used primarily for pornographic content may be removed; incidental NSFW from a web service may show only if hidden by default and turned on via the website).
- Google Play Developer Program Policy (sexual content and services intended to be sexually gratifying) and AI-Generated Content policy (generative AI apps primarily intended to be sexually gratifying are listed as violative).
- CrushOn FAQ and install wiki: mixed store / website / APK / AltStore claims; hidden content enabled on the website.
- Candy help: no native iOS/Android app: mobile browser + Add to Home Screen.
Why store AI girlfriends stay filtered
This is a policy problem, not a prompt-engineering problem.
| Store rule | What it means for adult AI | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Apple 1.1.4 | Apps with overtly sexual or pornographic material do not belong on the App Store. | Operator-stated (Apple) |
| Apple 1.2 | A UGC app used primarily for pornographic content can be removed. If NSFW from a website is allowed at all, it must be hidden by default and switched on on the website. | Operator-stated (Apple) — this is why CrushOn’s FAQ sends you to website toggles, then tells you to restart the app |
| Google Play sexual content | Apps that contain or promote sexual content, pornography, or services intended to be sexually gratifying are not allowed. | Operator-stated (Google) |
| Google Play genAI | Text-to-text chatbot apps are in scope; apps “primarily intended to be sexually gratifying” are given as violative examples. | Operator-stated (Google) |
Editorial inference: a listing that survives review is the wrong place to hunt “uncensored.” Switch the channel. Do not jailbreak or root the phone to force a store binary.
Three access patterns (pick the website)
| Pattern | What you get | When it fails |
|---|---|---|
| Store listing | Icon, store updates, Apple/Google billing | Adult policy is store-limited; IAP sits on the Apple ID / Google account; hidden content may require a website unlock |
| Official website + Add to Home Screen | Same product policy as desktop web; icon without a store listing | Still a cloud account. Not anonymity. Not a verified zero-log host |
| Sideloaded APK / AltStore | Operator-specific (CrushOn’s wiki documents both) | Integrity depends on the source; third-party APK sites are a malware path. Not the recommendation on this page |
Recommended pattern: official website in Safari or Chrome, then Add to Home Screen if you want the icon. Product-by-product steps for CrushOn live on the CrushOn mobile page — this page does not duplicate them.
Generic home-screen steps (same pattern Candy documents):
- Open the operator’s own domain in Safari (iOS) or Chrome (Android).
- Share / ⋮ → Add to Home Screen.
- Open the icon. Confirm adult/hidden settings on the website if the product uses that Apple-shaped gate.
- Cancel billing where you paid (store vs web checkout). Uninstalling the icon does not delete the account — deletion audit.
Which product for which phone job
| Need | Tool | Access (operator-stated) |
|---|---|---|
| Adult custom bots on a phone | CrushOn | Website recommended here; FAQ also claims store apps; wiki adds APK/AltStore. Store listing unknown. |
| Hosted girlfriend text + documented deletion | Candy AI | Help center: no native iOS/Android app; use the mobile browser / Add to Home Screen |
| Voice + in-chat media | Muah AI | Web. Not reviewed here as a store or PWA product |
Girlfriend hub: best AI girlfriend apps. Privacy hub: safe NSFW AI chat.
Primary mobile pick: CrushOn
CrushOn is the commercial pick on this category page because it is built as a character hub and documents a website path that is not limited to store review. It is not a privacy-maximal pick: the privacy policy discloses analytics, ads cookies, and training use of chat content. Confirm Hidden Content on the site. Full product notes: CrushOn on iOS & Android.
Do not choose CrushOn if you need Candy’s documented deletion write-up, a throwaway-email workflow (CrushOn’s FAQ forbids it), or local/offline storage.

When Candy is the better phone path
Choose Candy AI when the job is long-form hosted roleplay and a published Delete Account path, and you are fine using the browser. Candy’s own help center says there is no native store app — ignore copycat store listings.
